Concerts this fall

July 13th, 2010

I just updated my concert calendar for the fall- lots of gigs coming up!

I’ll be doing some concerts with a full band in august/september, and then I’ll be supporting Mads Langer on his solo tour around Denmark.  I’ll also be going on a tour to the US in october, playing at the Scandinavian House in NYC and supporting Kim Richey on her tour. Hope to see some of you out there!

Roskilde Festival

July 8th, 2010

Almost recovered after a great festival!! I heard some fantastic music, and the highlights for me must have been Prince (oh my good that little guy is still at the top of his game!!) , C.V. Jørgensen, Beach House and Patti Smith. Here are some of my snapshots from the festival!

I love the “Most Wanted” dog poster.. Wish I came up with that myself..

I bring you: The Window Sessions

July 1st, 2010

I decided to make little videos of all of my songs from the album, invite a musical guest to my window sill to play it with me, and posting them on this site every 1. in the month.

To kick it off I invited my good friend and talented singer Anna Stengade to play with me. Here’s “This is Goodbye” for y’all! I had a little trouble with the sound quality, but it will approve as we go along- promise!!

Window Session 1- This is Goodbye

Well, now I’m off to Roskilde Festival- hope to see some of you there!

London- and a “freemix” from Rimsky//Bronson

June 29th, 2010

Way to long since my last entry.. bad girl.. oh well, here goes! I just came home from a couple of days in London, playing a gig in Camden with the wonderful Kim Richey. Besides putting out a new record, she also has a fantastic band of two talented guys, with whom I had the pleasure to play. They are both artists with their own projects as well, so I thought I’d introduce you to them here:

Ladies and gentlemen, Henrik:

Henrik – This Time

And Jez Ashurst with his lovely band Farrah:

Farrah- Swings and Roundabouts

Here’s a snapshot of us practising- I played the keyboard and sang- and took photos

Kim, Henrik, Jez and me practising before show in Camden

I really enjoyed being back in London, such a great city to walk around in- my feet are still sore from walkin in too high platform shoes! I guess thats punishment for vanity..

Well, time for some free stuff folks! Who is this mysterious and very cool guy?:

—– It’s Rimsky, a friend of mine, who goes by many names and even more music projects. He and Bronson decided to remix a song of mine, and as a special feature to celebrate summer, we’re giving it away for free to make sure you have something to dance to:

A rainy day recommendation

June 9th, 2010

Hello and goodmorning – after a long weekend of Distortion festival, music, parties and sunshine, the weather is back to what we know as danish summer weather… A rainy morning calls for good music, so here’s a recommendation from me: Shanghai – a new danish band that I fell in love with after hearing them playing a spontaneous window concert during the distortion festival:

Oh well – have a great day! I’m off to the studio, about to create some music for your listening pleasure!

Spot, Copenhagen Jazzhouse, Music and Sewer Service

May 23rd, 2010

Friday was a day packed with action.. Oh my.. A tight schedule, that at one crucial point was very close to go down the sewer so to speak..

Andreas and I played a short set at the Tigerspring DAY party @ Spot festival in Århus. It was the first time Tigerspring had the party, and hopefully it wont be the last- the beer was cold, the sun was shining, people where smiling, and we had a great time. After dragging ourself out of the place (there’s nothing like the first taste of summer music festivals- we really felt like staying!) we turned the car, and started driving to Copenhagen for my next gig at Copenhagen Jazzhouse, where I was Per Vers‘ guest at his concert with the great guys from Six City Stompers . It just so happened that the car broke down in the middle of nowhere. Luckily, we stranded right next to Holst Kloakservice (Holst Sewer Service), where this damsel in distress was rescued, and driven to the nearest station, while Andreas was stuck with the car. Long story short, everything worked out, and I made it 5 minutes into the show.. Karolina Zapolska, a very talented young photographer took pictures, and she let me put them up on my site, so here goes:

Come come!

May 17th, 2010

Hi there, I’m playing at the Danish label Tigerspring’s DAY party at the Spot Festival in Århus this friday, 14.00, Absalonsgade 25. There will be a fantastic line-up, including Chimes and Bells, Bon Homme, Jacob Bellens, Howl Bay Howl, and other great bands. Please drop by if you have the time!

Also, today is the day where my fantastic friend Kim Richey is putting out her album “Wreck Your Wheels”. We co-wrote  ”The Absence of Your Company” (it was featured on both Kim’s album “Chinese Boxes” and my debut album), and for this record we co-wrote the song “Back to You”. It’s a really beautiful song that we did together last fall in my apartment here in Copenhagen. She’s an amazing artist and songwriter, and you should definitely check it out !  Well that’s all the advertisement you get today, xxH

This wednesday I went to MTV 5 year birthday party, and I had a lot of fun with friends and free drinks. Goldfrapp played, and almost no one listened- I felt very embarassed by my fellow danes!! Come on, it’s Goldfrapp for €%&’s sake!

Anyway, here’s a picture of me on the red carpet, wearing a vintage jumpsuit from the fantastic store “Times Up”+ favorite clutch from Comme de Garcon+ blazer from H&M+ heels from Topshop.
